Strongman Bursa

This morning, while most bourses in Asia were down, Bursa proved resilient, standing up by 3.69 points to shore up the CI to 1419.5. Gainers lost to losers 293 to 371. Volume was better at 457 million shares worth 647 million ringgits. To be attributable to Sime shares again.

Among gainers, O&G's
KNM upped 45 sen followed by giant Sime Darby with a handsome gain of 30 sen, UtdPlant ascending by a similar amount and Digi riding up 25 sen. Losers were led by IJM losing 30 sen,TM dropping 20 sen and so did IOIProp. Kwantas slided 15 sen.

The portfolio was unimpressive. KHSB upped 2 sen to 90.5 sen and Metronic rose 0.5 sen to 16 sen. The rest were at their overnight levels or down. Genting dropped 5 sen to RM7.75 while Resorts slid 4 sen to RM3.80. RCE love 0.5 sen to 87.5 sen. Welli and BJ Sports Toto remained at their overnight prices of 56 sen and RM5.00.

Afternoon should be better as Asian markets appear to be recovering.
