Tight Fisted Bursa

Give no quarters-looks like that is what the stance of Bursa these days. In spite of a dam bursting Dow fall, it lost only 0.30 of a point to maintain the CI in the approximate level of 1435.38. Losers swarmed the boards with 454 maroon counters as against only 262 green counters. Volume traded was 624 million shares worth RM1.33 billion.

Gainers were cornered stock SAAG lifting off to the ISS for both its mother share, SAAG which rose 85 sen and its WA which climbed 88 sen. BKawan added 50 sen while Sime move up 40 sen. Notable losers included Digi slipping 50 sen; Bursa being floored by 30 sen and Parkson losing 25 sen along with Nestle.

The portfolio is on the verge of harakiri. Genting is on a suicidal streak losing 25 sen to RM7.65,BJ Sports Toto lost 10 sen to RM5.10, Resorts World skidded off 4 sen to RM3.98 and RCE and KHSB both lost 0.5 sen to 83.5 sen and 89 sen respectively. Metronic is almost sub-prime status at 15 sen. Welli saw some bright sparks flying adding 1.5 sen to 55 sen.

Real lousy market day.
