Bursa in Consolidation

The positive Dow was no help. CI went up 1.72 points to 1508.76. Losers loomed large with some 517 losers and 210 gainers. Volume was not bad at 615 million shares traded at a value of RM1.05 billion.

Gainers were IOIProp leading with a gain of 80 sen. Tenaga was hot upping 30 sen;KLK move up 20 sen and Kulim rose 15 sen. The losers were cellular phone operator Digi losing 30 sen,Hexagon slipping 20 sen, Muhibbah sliding 16 sen and F&N felling 15 sen.

The portfolio was in the dumps. Except for Welli which closed up 0.5 sen to 54.5 sen and Genting which closed unchanged at RM7.85, all the rest were losers. KHSB and Resorts both fell 2 sen to RM1.03 and RM4.00. RCE dropped 1.5 sen to 87 sen while Metronic slipped 0.5 sen to 15.5 sen. BJ Sports Toto went down 5 sen to RM5.25.

There may be some buying in the afternoon of blue chips to resume the bull-run until the Chinese New Year.
